Fall 2019 has Arrived!
Welcome (back) to campus! We hope your first week of class went well and your semester is off to a great start!
Using Your Accommodations
We’ve already processed more than 2,500 Accommodation Letters for fall! If you plan to use your accommodations this semester be sure to request and discuss your Accommodation Letters with your instructions. Ask them if they will be viewing your Accommodation Letter online via the new SSD Instructor Web Portal or if you need to print and bring a hard copy of the letter. Submit your Accommodation Letter Request .
Connect with your Coordinator
Your SSD Coordinator is here to support you with your accommodation-related questions and concerns. Have a question about how your accommodations work? Concerned about an interaction with an instructor? Please reach out via phone or email or come during their office hours (but be sure to check in at the SSD front desk first). You should have received an email from your Coordinator last week; make sure you read it so you know who your Coordinator is and how to contact them.
SSD Welcome Events
Get your semester off to a strong start by attending some of our welcome events! Incoming students who have not RSVPd for the Accommodation Orientation should do so here. The full calendar of Welcome Events is posted online.
Connecting with Community
There are a number of ways to meet other students with disabilities and find a sense of community and support on campus. These specific groups are connected with SSD:
This group provides a forum for students on the spectrum to discuss their experiences, and share resources and ideas.
This group is for any student living with chronic illnesses or medical conditions that have a significant impact on their lives.
disABILITY Advocacy Student Coalition
DASC is SSD’s Sponsored Student Organization. Students with and without disabilities join together to raise awareness to disability and accessibility on campus.
