Course Load Reduction (CLR) Accommodation
A Course Load Reduction (CLR) accommodation may allow eligible students with disabilities to maintain full-time enrollment status while taking fewer credit hours than the standard full-time requirement.
This accommodation is intended for students whose disability-related needs affect their ability to sustain a full course load.
What This Accommodation Provides
If approved, a Course Load Reduction accommodation may:
- Allow you to maintain full-time enrollment status while enrolled in fewer credit hours.
- Support requests for full-time status verification when needed.
- Help you access university services or programs that require full-time enrollment.
This accommodation does not change degree requirements or academic expectations.
Eligibility
This accommodation may be appropriate for students who:
- Have a documented disability.
- Experience disability-related barriers to maintaining a full course load.
- Need reduced enrollment while maintaining full-time status.
Eligibility is determined through the accommodation process with Disability and Access.

- Guarantee approval of a Course Load Reduction request through the university process.
- Override financial aid, housing, employment, immigration or other eligibility requirements.
- Replace academic advising or degree planning.
- Automatically drop or withdraw courses.
