Barriers to Access

In a college environment, you might find some of these things more challenging:

• Taking notes while listening to lectures
• Retaining information or recalling important dates and deadlines
• Processing information or completing tasks at expected speeds
• Processing written or verbal instructions after only encountering them once
• Following oral instructions without written or visual support
• Understanding abstract communication or instructions
• Sensory overload from lights, sounds, smells or crowded spaces
